I never caught one going 25, either. Go figure

My father had that exact boat before he passed away. He liked it because he could get in it and crappie fish without having to get up and with only one leg it was great for him. I personally like a tiller steering boat for running the river because it turns a lot faster and IMO easier to control in swift water.

I dont know where you fish the most but I know on Rayburn I have been out there many times when it was dead calm and then the wind picks up and there are 3 or 4 foot swells FAST. I refuse to go out there in a small boat. I was tying to a stump in my buddies one day not a wave on the water, by the time we tied up and got the first bait bucket down, we had waves coming over the bow of his 18ft fiberglass bass boat and I could not get untied so had to cut the rope. By the time we got undone the boat had water about 6 inches on the floor and we barely were able to plane out.
Moral to the story when on larger lakes it can get bad out of the blue and big boats save lives. good luck on whatever you pick that YOU think is best for your needs as I dont know your needs.

I have a Panfish 16 that I bought about 12 years ago and have no intentions of selling. For the kind of fishing I do I wouldn't have anything else. I have electric remote anchors on front and rear so I can pull up to a spot, drop both anchors, and fish without ever leaving my seat. It is definitely not a big water boat so it just depends on what you plan to do with it. Mine has the 48 HP motor and it will flat scoot! If you need any more info on the boat Pm me and I'll be glad to answer any questions.

Nothing wrong at all with a smaller boat. Just use your head and know the weather and the capabilities of the craft. Heck I just sold my Bass boat and fish exclusively out of kayaks now, so I can tell you alot about small crafts.
