I have a two year degree in the field. But Im not involved in the hardware side if it. Im on the infrastructure side of things. If I had to do it all over again I'd went for EE to start with. I've found out I hate having to fight with computers and fixing them. Sadly I'm not guaranteed the 50-60 a year. I make about 30 base and then we get a "commission" but luckily we've had some good years. The company I work for is a great company to work for. I guess its mainly the fact that the guy I work with is making the same I am, and doesn't do half the stuff I do or even have any college behind him. I do all the phone work, all the troubleshooting, and he pretty much just involves himself in the installation part of it as his wife is one of the "higher ups" and can get away with it.

It just makes me wanna walk out the door when I'm busting my butt for the company out ob the field and he's sitting back at the office soaking up the AC or out in the truck sleeping.

Sorry to get off in that rant but it just makes me really mad.

To answer the house question. I still live at home rent free right now, but saving nd hoping to buy after the first of the year. I should have plenty saved up for nice down payment and closing cost by then.

      Not married and zero kids.

I'd like to talk to a professional, but I also know I don't have the kinda money to start investing into much of anything right now.

I've read up on the Roth Ira's. But I still don't fully understand them. Could someone try to shed some light in layman's terms.

Renounce your U.S. citizenship and go to Mexico. Sneak back across the border. Apply for welfare and make lots of babies. You'll be set for life.

Ad long as your doing what your doing you are ahead of the game. The more money you make the more taxes you pay. I keep reminding myself all the while I am complaining about it. I am looking to lease a little land and get a few cattle to give me a break. Something I am familliar with and know you van get a decent break on some "hunting " I mean cattle purchases

If you want to keep your money you better get this thread deleted.
Big brother is watching and won't like any talk of hiding money
Another good tool is to vote right. Every decision a politician makes effects your wallet in one way or another.
            Good luck
