When you think of feeder timers the thought of a road feeder never really crosses your mind. I have been using our timers for road feeding since we started building them but, after a conversation with one of our dealers I realized we had never promoted how well they work in this application.
After years and years of using and building road feeders there is one thing that always gives you grief, the wiring and switch to the drivers seat. It doesn't seem to matter how well you hide or tie the wire up the brush always gets it. It seems that every toggle switch on the planet will break at the worst time as well. If its not the toggle switch its the toggle switch terminals, etc. you guys that use a lot of road feeders know what I am talking about.
So basically what we do with the Sneaky Feed timer is turn it into a wireless remote. All you need to do is to connect the power and ground, use a 12v ignition on power wire and Connect the motor like normal. You can basically mount the timer anywhere you want on the feeder. At this range you will always have strong signal even if your sitting in an enclosed cab vehicle.
The first thing you need to do is connect to the timer and set the wifi setting to "alway on". This means anytime the ignition is on, the timer and wifi is on. You will be able to open the app and connect within a few seconds, anytime you want.
You can go into your settings and also set the delay to 0 seconds and the duration to manual. To feed hit the feed now button and then to stop it just hit stop feeding. You can also set it for a set number of seconds if you want to throw a certin amount feed as well.
You can set the motor power to match how you want to drive and the width of the road to help eliminate throwing corn in the brush if you want or have narrow senderos or something.
Another thing that works well especially on larger feed trailers or custom road feeders is using the feed analysis. Nothing sucks worse than feeding a lot of roads or senderos and running out of feed because you have no way to track the usage without physically stopping and looking. With the feed analysis you run 1 hopper out and from then on you can look at your feed remaining and feed used numbers to see where you are at. Not a must have but, a nice thing to look at for those that feed a lot with road feeders.
The last thing I have personally done is set up a 12v light on the back of the feeder and connected it to the accessory line of the Sneaky Feed. If its dark and I am backing up or if I need to gut an animal or load an animal I can have a light without having to relly do much wiring or run something to a cab or to another switch somewhere. It's handy for us in many instances.
I think that mostly covers how to use the Sneaky Feed as an awesome remote with some usefule features for those that do a lot of road feeding. If I left something out or have any questions let me know.
