    Rookie Cuddeback Operator Needs Help

I put a Cuddeback out this weekend over some corn, and I know I only had it out for one night, but when I went back to check it, the corn was gone (looked like mostly hog sign), but the only pictures I had were of me putting the darn thing up! Did I mount it too high (about 34"), or am I just being impatient? I left it on ez mode, so I don't think I somehow turned the flash off, did I? Also, I put it up during the day when it shouldn't need the flash, and it flashed on the first image (had 4 images total). It's still out, but I won't be back for 3 weeks, so I was wondering if yall could tell me for sure that I did something wrong, or am I just being my usual impatient self. I wouldn't be 2nd guessing it if the corn wasn't licked clean. Also, it's set for a 1 min delay between pics.

I did the same thing when I got mine. What I did wrong was had the camera aimed to high. I put mine up about head high, give or take, and then make sure it looks like it is pointing lower than what you would think would be right.

In other words, if you aim the camera like you are trying to take pictures of the animals feet I think you will like the result. One way I do this is after I have the camera attached to the tree for whatever, I put a stick or something between the top of the box and tree to get the right angle. I love my camera...although the guys on our lease quit calling them trail cams and just call them pig cams now.

Thanks, Chunky. Maybe I'll get lucky and catch a couple images, anyway.

I have an older cuddeback. I have mine about 3.5 ft. off the ground, attached to a tree. I second the stick trick! I keep a 1/2 inch stick behind the top of the camera; keeps it pointed down. Has always taken great pics at that height and angle (looks like it's too angled down).

I keep mine in EZ mode, 1 minute delay. On mine, I leave it in the 'stand by' mode after set up. After a 5 minute delay it's hot and taking pics.

I try to replace the 4 d batteries after each run (about 450 pics). It doesn't like weak batteries.....it messed up the programming in mine.

I'd like to get another one, but I hear the 'new' ones have had some issues. Mine has been very good.
