All this bad taxi threads got me thinking, what would you do....

So on a serious note. I shot a nice hog this past season that I wanted to get mounted. Intention of putting a cigar in his mouth and a poker hat on him for man cave garage or poker room. I found a guy that offered to do it close to half the cost of some taxidermist I know that are awesome so said why not i will go ahead and mount him for that price. The buck in my profile pic (best buck to date with a bow) is getting done by a taxi I know that will do an awesome job and I don't mind paying for it cause I love his work and this trophy means a whole lot more to me than a pig.
My question if the hog mount turns out like a complete pos, would you confront the taxi and say I'm not paying for that when you knew going into it that the mount would most likely not look amazing. (you get what you pay for) Unless its just horrible I'll most likely pay the full price keep my mouth shut and never use the taxi again. Just curious to hear the green screen thoughts. I'm going to pick up my hog this weekend. Anyone ever told a taxi I'm not paying for that?

I would suck it up for half the price. You never know though, it may turn out great. I never turned one back to the taxi, but I am waiting for a whitetail and a Sika deer to come back right now.

If you knew going into it, I wouldn't say much if anything at all. Just my .02

You knew you were rolling the dice so I believe it's on you. Now if he told you he could produce a certain quality and didn't deliver or has mounts that show a certain quality in his show room(most likely not done by him) and yours is nothing like them I might but in your case probably not.

No way I would ever pay to have a hog mounted...so no chance of that.

I would not worry about it until you see the product. I charge 325 for a wt shoulder here in ok. My friend charges 625 and I have mounted several deer for him. Sometimes price does not mean a thing, maybe the taxi is just looking for more clients.

Unless it is just falling apart I would not say anything.
