    Installing a console on a john boat?

    i have a 9.9 on my 14ft john boat, and im pretty sure i can make a side console at work, but i know nothing abt connecting the linkage and do they make a 25hp that isnt a tiller? tiller is hand controlled right? im a newb on outboards. i just put a new deck and floor in it, im trying to fix it up pretty nice. i just feel alot more comfortable driving behind a steering wheel.. thanks, Alex

      you should buy the teleflex cable 4-5 feet longer and make one loop in front of your engine to the side of the boat than you need to reach your steering column located on your center console. To attach the center console you can rivet some angle to the bottom of the boat the dimensions of the console. been there done that...

        I used to have a 14ft.with "stick"steering. It was great.Might google it up.
        It was a blast to drive too. BTW it didn't take up too much room either.
