    Eotech problem

Anybody had this problem with Eotech? I think one of the batteries leak now it does not turn on. any ideas on how much it's going to cost me to have it fix.

I don't know what it would cost to repair, but if the metal contacts are "partially corroded", you might try cleaning them with a battery cleaner such as Permatex SA-8 battery cleaner comes in a 5.75 oz aerosol can. Be sure to protect the other components from any overspray or spray it on a Qtip and wipe it over contacts.

I'm not promising this will solve your problem, but it should allow you to remove any corrosion from the battery leak on the metal contacts and inside the plastic battery storage area. Once clean try new batteries and it might work. This worked on my Garmin after leaving the same batteries in over a couple seasons and yes I own an Eotech. Good Luck,

Clean the contacts. Most common problem with Eotech is corrosion on the battery contacts.

Just a side note to whats already said. Our department requires that we only use lithium batteries in our Eotech to avoid the batteries leaking. Also got upgraded kits to avoid losing the rubber gromet and spring inside the compartment.

If the above mentioned doesn't work contact eotech. They replaced a unit for me out of warranty at no charge.

Very good advice. Not only do the lithium batteries not leak but they last at least twice as long.
