Base mount and scope ring suggestions

I need some suggestions on which base mounts and rings to get for my new rifle. Im gonna put a a Vortex Viper 6.5x20x50 PA scope on my Remington 700SPS Varmit. Here is a link to the scope in getting.

Im still real new to all the long/mid range shooting stuff so this is the reason for my post here. If you could, please post a link to the base mount and rings your suggesting. I have usually always just got bass pro or whoever i bought my rifle from to put the rings and scopes on for me in the past. I have done it many times before but my understanding is that there are some other things to consider when setting up a long/mid range rifle.

    Thanks for the help guys!

I would use a EGW 20 MOA base and either Warne Tactical Rings or Leupold Mark 4 rings. One thing for long range is you have too make sure the crosshairs are squared with action and bore or your elevation changes will not be true to bore when you make them.

Badger Ordnance, Larue Tactical, Nightforce, or Leupold Mark 4 are probably your best options. I would choose steel over aluminum if it's a gun you're not planning on carrying around much.

Leupold Mark 4 rings and bases are my choice. I have them on almost every rifle I own.

I get mine from a friend that owns a local gun shop. Any leupold dealer should be able to get them. With a 50mm u will need high to extra high rings.

Swfa carries them as well and great people to order from online.

They are some of the best rings and bases in my opinion. You could go with regular leupold rings and bases andbe fine. I have a Remington 700 adl that is 25 years old with regular rings and bases and have held solid this whole time. It will save you over $100 if I was guessing. If you call swfa ask for Skyler he is a fellow TBHer.

Just get some Talley lightweights and use the leftover cash on ammo/reloading components.
