    What to do?

Okay guys I need some advice.here is the deal.I am on a lease for the first year.I found the lease in the paper and met the guys and got on.Well I am having a hard time dealing with the unethical and ignorant behavior.I dont have enough space to get into details but these guys are just killing anything and everything.Half the time not even getting kill shots.Just wounding deer.I am happy with the lease other than that.what do I do?

I would either discuss your concerns with them or the landowner but not both. Sad situation but maybe the landowner would understand your concerns more than they would, good luck.

Are there any on the lease that are not unethical? You might start there. With several having the same issues it may make more of point.
You could try the landowner but that may make for a bad camp the rest of season.
Get on a new lease next year and talk about these issues to the new prospective members.
Sounds like if you ****'em off they can't hit the side of a barn...

Well,I think I will be searching for greener pastures after season. It sure was nice during bow season because I am the only bowhunter on the lease.I think I will search for a bow only lease next year. Thanks for all of your advice and comments

Leave. I left a GREAT lease two years ago near Camp wood because of a bunch of drunken unethical rifle-hunters. The property was awsome 1800 acres, deer hogs exotics turkey on a river with cabin, and a good price. Just wasn't worth it for the company. Found a great lease the next year in San Saba. It was a smaller place but with ethical bow/gun hunters. Felt much better about that place

I'd leave, but at the end of the season I'd also have a discussion with the landowner to let him know whats going on and why you are leaving. Let the landowner deal with contacting the game warden etc.

If I can make a suggestion, find a lease with friends that want to manage the place the same way. Our camp is lucky. We all know each other somehow or another. There are 15-17 ppl. We have a great group and are very lucky.

Kinda Like me, but my GRANDPA is the lease president and dosent want to "ruffle feathers". So I plan on asking the Land Lord if he happens to have another piece to lease to me. I hope he does cause I have been on this place for 21 yrs!

Have the game warden visit them through an anonymous tip maybe ?

Good leases are hard to find, but you can't live with this for long. You could try talking to them, you could try and get good hunters on each time a spot opens, or you can bail. Good luck, it would be easier to give advice if we knew how bad the behavior was.

If they are violating game laws -

My belief is that you have a moral obligation to report game violations.

Maybe this means you can't stay on the lease, but I can't stand to see some lowlife break the law with impugnity.

move on and bring it up at your next lease. Asking about it will just make for a bad camp bad hunters are bad hunters the world around.

Yes there are some laws being broken as far as the 13"restriction and the unbranched antler restriction.I hunt in eastland so the restrictions are new but they have been discussed at the lease. These people are just unethical idiots and I just cant be around it.It makes going to the lease not a fun time and thats what its all about.Luckily a friend heard about my situation and offered me a spot on his lease in brady...BOW ONLY!.I cant wait til next season. Thanks for the advice.

im all in for ethics and if they aren't obiding by side rules i would definately call them on it, even if you are the new guy. 1 report it to the land owner first then discuss point by point on what they are doing that is unetical according to land rules.

the other extreme is being charged or fined 500-2000.00 if you miss the spread by 1/3" yes i know places like that!!! money and ethics, the new trend argh!!!
