I've been thinking of you daily buddy. You would love Dove hunting at my house, I must have seen a thousand opening day. I can't even think of how many times we've been out together and seen just a few. I have a feeling you may have sent them my way, much appreciated bud.
I had been living in my new house probably six months, and not seen any deer, until the very day you went upstairs. Everyday since these two yearlings are hanging around like clock work. There are many things daily that remind me of you, seeing these guys every morning, brings me fond memories of you.
Bow season's around the corner here's my first bow hunt ever with Brad:
Our friendship started in seventh grade, during football. We got to talking hunting, which I was new to and Brad was a wealth of knowledge. You taught me how to bow hunt that year. Our first hunting experience, I had Brad laughing for five minutes straight. This was back when we'd put a tag on anything that moved. We were in the same ground stand, it had to be the first or second weekend of Oct, there was frost that morning. Anyhow a big 4-pointer comes out, I pull back and he's looking right at me forever, he finally looks straight ahead and I release, of course he jumps forward and the arrow's stuck in his butt as he high tails it. I can still hear him laughing now as if it where yesterday. A few minutes pass he's still laughing when a spike shows up, now it's Brad's turn and he can't keep from laughing even while he's releasing. We went home empty handed that day.
Ya'll be safe this weekend, Brad will be keeping an eye on us from above.
Welcome to the green screen.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Jeff, I truly enjoyed our conversation the other day. Growing up, I was always jealous of Brad's family. Out of all my buddies family's, yours was the one I admired most and will be striving to replicate myself someday. Some of my fondest memories are when you took me along to the lease with Brad and Blane. In particular one stands out:
All four of us where driving to a lease in Mason, I believe, and you got this nice blue Z71, actually became Brad's 1st ride later. We're not quite into Llano and hit this little buck doing about 75mph. I'm in the back seat passenger side and see this deer hydroplaning across the grass, going faster than we are. The deer and truck were both dead that night, a wrecker takes us back to Lakeway, with our roadkill us course. We get that nasty thing cleaned, I don't think it had a bone that wasn't broke, and we're back off to the lease again. Road kill was the only thing that went into the freezer that weekend, but we put a hurting on rabbit population at night.
I have been reading about a memorial fund on another forum. Can someone pass the details along?
How can I put a pic in the message? Little mountain button is asking for a url?

Woke up at 330 this morning...couldn't sleep for some reason. Been laying here in bed reading stories others have shared, and man, I just gotta say again how fortunate I am to be your friend. Now I'm crying...dang I miss you Bro!!! You know, my Mom passed away back in the late 90's and sometimes I have these vivid dreams of her...where we actually talk and hug, and do things together...man those dreams are awesome!!! I'm ready to have some dreams where you and I are hunting or just hanging out doing what we do...that sure would make my day!!!!
You sure are loved, CM!!! I can't wait to see you again!!!

We are Having our annual dove hunt at the ranch starting today. It won't be the same without your axis wraps. I remember a year ago we were shooting bows and talking deer. The dove hunting wasnt great but we all had a great time.
Now start sending some birds our way and don't forget to push that 11 over to Bucks blind in the morning at Mertzon.
Love you buddy.
