Bigger tire on silverado stock wheels

Searched the GS and all over the web, but haven't quite found my answer. Maybe some of you wouldn't mind helping. Got a '10 Silverado Z71 4x4 with 18" stock aluminum wheels. Tires that came on the truck are Bridgestone Dueler A/T RH-S at 265/65/18. I've got about 35K miles on them and they've been great tires, but getting the itch to put some bigger shoes on, especially since I put a 1.5" leveling kit on the front end last summer.

I think I've pretty much narrowed the two sizes down to 285/65/18 or 275/70/18, which I've heard both will fit without rubbing. I think the 275's are more appealing, mainly due to cheaper price and I believe they sit a little taller. I'm debating the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac's, BFGoodrich All Terrains's or Nitto Terra Grappler's.

I do drive a lot of highway, but want something fairly aggressive for the off-road times and rugged look obviously.

Has anyone had any recent experience with same truck/leveling kit and various larger tires or sizes? Thanks in advance and will post pics with whatever I decide in the next month or two.

Also, I'll prob sell the 265's on there now if anyone is interested, just PM me. Great shape, prob 40-50% tread left, plug put in one tire last summer, hasn't leaked since.

I had the 285's on my Z71 yrs ago... I think it was a 2000 model though. It looked REALLY good with those bigger shoes.

I have the same truck with a 1.5" leveling kit and I went with 285 BFG AT's. It looks good.

I ran the 285 on my leveled 2010. I will go back with 285's on my 2012 when time comes for tires.

Thanks for all of the input fellas, sounds like 285's are the winner.

                  Anyone have any pics?

I would have pics and I have the same truck with the front level.
I went with 275 or something and I wish I had the 285s.

285 will be about 1/2 inch wider, & 3/4 inch shorter than 275. The 285 would be the one I would choose, because better braking, and less loss of.power.

Had 285's on mine but running 295's now and like them better. I didn't use all of the adjustment in my leveling kit to help save ball joints etc so I had to do some fender trimming at the back of the fenders.

I promise you cant find the trimming without sticking your head inside the wheel well.
