I once managed to get a pair of needle nose punched all the way through a 66" tire. Sucked too, as the truck was loaded with 6 tons of fertilizer and 500 gallons of herbicide. The tire went flat so quick I didn't know what happened, maybe 5 seconds.

The tire store I go to in Lampasas has a collection of stuff that came from tires and one of the items is exactly what you have in your pic. I was amazed when I saw it.

The biggest item i ever found in a tire when I worked at a tire stor in the early to mid 70's was when a customer pulled into the store and ask me if i could fix this flat. He pulled the tire out of his trunk and it had a 2"x2" wooden surveyors stake thru the sidewall. He was mad when I told him it could not be fixed and the road warranty did not apply!
