For several years we had the community stand thing and it worked well as the core of the group never changed.

As new members joined, things changed with personalities, people filling feeders, everyone trying to run cameras, and migrating to their "favorite spot".

The next year went with designated areas but as a group maintain a few stands as community stands. Seems to work well so far. Even the older members are excited about having their own area and not having to worry about someone else spooking off a deer they were after.

The issues we just dealt with having community stands were: keeping feeders filled, fixed. Cameras. Different preferences for stand/feeder placement and feeding times. Checking cameras, filling feeders during the season. The thing I really did not like with that system is that I tend to hunt a single animal and that made it tough with the community concept.

We allow two stands per member, and one feeder. No community stands.

We have 4600 acres with 6 guys. There are 15 towers with food plots and feeders and 6 bow only stands. Works out pretty good since my sons and I are the only bow hunters! The biggest problem we have is trying to decied which stand to hunt and which one has not been hunted in awhile.

If I was getting on a lease, I'd prefer community stands. When it works, it's awesome.

haha, I was just messin' with ya. ETex has the potential to produce some of the best bucks in the state, but the locals are content taking two year olds... which is fine if it makes them happy, but I often wonder how good it could be....

Its awesome they taste delicious thank you!! If their old enough to bleat their big enough to eat!
