    Ipod Help Please.....

I've got an iPod nano. I've hooked it up and downloaded itunes, but I don't know if I installed it. (how do I know) I had a different ipod a week or two ago and nearly had it figured out, but it broke. Now I'm having a hard time with the replacement one. Anytime I try to hook up my ipod I get an error that the apple database couldn't be found. It also says to unplug and try again. Am I doing anything obvious wrong? Thanks..

    I ain't no ipod/computer guru, but I'll give it a whirl .......

When you downloaded iTUNES, did the installer kick off? If so, after it installed, did the installer ask if ya wanted to place a icon on the desktop?
If not, then it don't sound like iTUNES is installed.

Click on "START", the "ALL PROGRAMS". If iTUNES is listed on the tree, then expand it and run the setup or installer. That oughta do the trick.

Hope that gets you headin in the right direction.

I agree it doesn't sound like Itunes installed. If it is there you may want to unintall it and try again. Are you by chance behind a firewall? That could also have something to do with it.

I have problems with Itunes and Dell's preinstalled "Memory Card Manager."

Are you having a problem downloading music from Itunes or is Itunes just not recognizing your Ipod?

you running XP or Vista? With Vista I had to uninstall itunes and then I went to Apple and installed the new updated itunes. May want to try that.

Itunes isn't a problem, I just ran a diagnostic (with more help) and it isn't recognizing my ipod. I think it didn't install kicked off itunes. But, if that's true how can I still download to my library. I'm gonna try again later. Thanks all.
