Mech penetration on hogs not so bad

I took a boar last night with a PSE brute expandable. I kinda missed the perfect low crease of the shoulder and ended up blasting him square in the shoulder. I wanted to show how well these expandables will penetrate when you have a good KE. I shoot a Drenalin at 70 pounds and am getting 75 to 76 KE with a gold tip arrow which weighs 380grains. I get around 297 fps.

I'm guessing this boar to be around 90 to 100 pounds. The arrow blasted though both shoulders and he was down inside 30 yards.

heres the bh. it's simular to a Jackhammer. It has a 1 and 3/4 cutting dia. I got em on Ebay for 8 bucks for a pack of 3.

    Heres the pig.

Some gorey pics of the entry and exit holes through both shoulders.

This is the entry hole. It was smaller then the exit and right in the middle of his shoulder blade. I peeled his 2.5 in sheilds off to expose these shoulders.

    Heres the exit.

After 2 years of experimenting lots broadheads on about 60 pigs this is what I've come to. For a really big pig a recomend a cut on contact fixed head like a razor cap.

Nice job frank I had a feeling you were smacking hogs last night. That will eat good. Hay did you get your brakes done?

Man, that's a lot of fat on that critter. Should be good eating. Have you actually tried (successfully) a mechanical on a big hog? I shot 2 big sows of about 150 lbs. each with the Rage 2 and it blew right through them, with an amazing blood trail. One went 20 yds and the other went about 30.

Looking at those pictures, I could almost smell hog.

        Good shooting.

Yeah, I've been killing hogs with Hammerheads, Sidewinders, and First Cut three blades for quite a few years not. No problems. Biggest one was a 298 lb sow with a first cut. Even the biggest of the hogs have the arrow sink to the vanes, but most are pass throughs. I'm not looking to kill the biggest hog in the woods. I like them from 125 lbs and down. I like numbers.
