    Yotes and hogs?

If the yotes are close, say 200 yds and yipping in the tree line what are the chances there are pigs anywhere in the area?

I got dogs on both sides of me talking to each other. Looks like I am packing it in.

Yup. Didn't plan on sitting to long any way. Good excuse to fill the feeder and watch the sunset.
Still looking for an answer though. Not to sure of the habits of coyotes.
They sang for about ten minutes on both sides of me and came in pretty close. How long will they stick to an area?
Do the pigs sit tight or do they leave the area?

I've had hogs at a feeder with yotes running the sendero over .. they didn't seem to care much.. but couldn't tell you for sure that they even knew they were there..
            Good question ..

Coyotes move. A lot. If they're not eating, they're looking for something to eat. I wouldn't worry too much about them scaring the pigs, they prefer easy meals, and pigs are very capable of defending themselves. I say sit tight, the night could get exciting.

If there's a sow with young piglets, the yotes may spook them; but if it's mature hogs, those dogs are meaningless. Yotes can find a lot easier and safer meals, unless the hog is injured and weakened.

I dont put anything past hogs. I wouldn't be surprised a big ol boar was sitting there looking at him like he(yote)was crazy.

Coyotes will catch and eat young pigs. As for the old hogs that is a different story. They don't have much to worry about from coyotes. An ole hog can take care of himself unless he is injured. I have called up many coyotes with a pig call, especially in areas where there are groups of young sounders.

I've shot hogs with yotes going off nearby on many occasions. I don't think the hogs worry about em. Jmo

I've got trail cam pics of both at the Feeder together.... Last year during the drought they were both eating corn... I got pics of coyotes with coons, deer, and pigs.
