    How much ammo is anough

How many rounds per firearm should a man have put back in case of hard times?

A minimum of 2k for every assault style rifle. 1k per bolt action. 500 per pistol. That should be a good starting goal. Cant have too much ammo.

Pistol - 2,000 (for each weapon)
              Long-range Rifle (hunting/defense) - 2,000 (for each calibre)
CQB Rifle (AK, etc.) - 10,000 (per each 2 weapons)
              Shotgun - 5,000

PLUS... 10-12,000 .22cal (and 2 each, pistol AND rifle).

PLUS... a Gross of arrows, matched for your bow (and points, both fieldtip AND b/h AND blunts for them), and at least 2 backup bows, extra strings, etc.

I only manage to keep about 200 rounds per firearm. Wish I had more but my kids would go hungry.

My pockets aren't that deep, if they were I would live at the range. Shot 250 rounds of 45 this weekend, cost me a benjamin. You have to pay to play!

There are options... cowboy shooters have been using some of them for years.

Initial investment CAN be pricey... but you can "shoot" as much as you can draw and pull the trigger. All day. Every day.

...and they are an excellent hand/eye training system.

                        This sounds about right.
