I bought two last year but have not used either; one is still in the box. They seem to be fine, but I'm sure they had to cut some corners to get the price down that low.
Ronnie sells these, called the grey ghost. Very well built. I have 2 of them. Honestly I think his are better quality then the one you posted. It has grease fittings on it. No tools needed. And beefy. It comes pretty much assembled. You just go hang it. Already pre greased!
Be sure to tell him your a TBH member....!
They are good but they are not as good as the Woodsey II or the real Gametamers. They will pop some when you shift your weight. You will need to add extra grease on the seat bottom so it wont make noise too. Some of the shafts and or cuplets that the shaft slips into have burs and it is hard to get them to go all the way in. I recommend putting it together at the house and checking it all before you go to the field. Still good for the money. I also recommend a cushion for the seat or replace the seat with a boat seat like woodsey too.
I have sat in the woodseys grey ghost for 5 hours. Only stood up maybe 3 to 4 times.
Watch yourself, I fell asleep a couple times
Best way to use this type of stand is in a large oak or 2 trees close by. Ladder on one, the stand on the other.
If you use it on a pine like I did the first time, "in the image". It is hard and scarey to get into and out of the stand. Even with a whole ladder section past the stand.
2 trees together is perfect and you can prop your feet up if need be.
How much is it worth if they pop at the wrong time or at all? I know mine are higher priced but they don't squeak or pop and I know they last at least 16 years. Thanks for the good words from those have ours
