^^^^ definitely this. The worst thing you can do is try to diagnose this yourself. Get professional help. Good luck and may God bless.

A few years ago I was having severe pain in my shoulder. I had an obvious Rotator tear from the MRI but the doc said it didn't explain the other pains I was having. Ended up having a torn labrum also that wasn't found until he got in there. The tear laid flat on the MRI. 2 1/2 hour surgery turned into 4 hours. I would definitely go see an orthopedic.

Yup. I put up with torn labrum for 15 years before I allowed Dr. OShay to do exploratory laposcopy (sp?) surgery. He fixed it while in there. The scar is less than 1/2 inch long.

Get a MRI. That way you know what is wrong and do the right rehab. I'm 7 weeks post surgery and have plenty of exercises just not sure they would be
          right for you

the exercises "red" has shown are what you should do for rotator cuff strengthening BEFORE you do any type of shoulder presses. I have all of my clients do these for at least 4 weeks before they do any kind of shoulder press.

Your problem may not be rotator cuff, but could be a bicep injury or overuse. The bicep starts or inserts at the top of the shoulder in a small notch. Sometimes people who do a lot of bicep isolations overwork this muscle and get pain in that area.

MRI. Mine was a bone spur that wore the cuff into. Because of the number of muscles involved, recovery is long.

Not that you are having any but if you are having tingling and numbness in your had don't discount carpal tunnel. Both of my shoulders use to give me fits. They kept having me do therapy and all. Finally my hands started going numb and had both carpal tunnels released and no more shoulder issues. My Rheumatoid Arthritis started acting up last week and my wrists were both so swollen that the nerve in both of them was being pressured and causing both shoulders to hurt. Tried a new med and the swelling went down and my shoulders quit hurting.

Thanks for all the posts. Gives me things to consider. My shoulder is not a high priority at this point is surgery is involved. I'm hoping maybe some exercises will help for right now.

If it helps i had an upper arm injury when i had to tackle a **** at work. This was april first an the pain was.bad. the city sent me to a dr. where he told me after an xray it was not the rotater but it was inflamation. He gave me anti inflamation meds and it has made it a little better but i still cant pull my bow back without severe pain. He told me it would heal itself with time but it still hurts and i will not have surgery.

Hurt my right shoulder in 1997 lifting a computer bag, could not lift my arm at all, went to family dr, he thought I had done something to my rotator cuff, gave me a cortizone shot in shoulder, immense pain there for a little bit but shoulder has been OK since then. Would do it again if I had to. GL.

I have been having problems last few years. Last year I couldnt pull the bow back and spooked a nice 6pt bull elk. I have been doing excerises and shooting but not pulling as much weight. I am hoping to get back close to old weight.
