    New lawn mower

I'm tired of fighting my old lawn mower. It's time to beat the heck out of it with a sledge hammer from all frustration it has caused and buy a new one. I really don't have a budget in mind. I don't want a $100 special but I also don't want to buy a $1000 one either. I'd say around $500 would be a good starting point.

    Any ideas/suggestions/comments/experiences?

Are you wanting a heavy duty walk behind? My suggestions are more pricey unfortunately.
If you are tempted to buy a John Deere, go to a dealer and not a big box store.

My favorite brand of walk behinds are Exmark and Toro(owns Exmark). Especially the models with the Kawasaki engines that have a 1 gallon fuel capacity. Talk about tough. But brand new they cost around $1200. They last and last and last. Dual air filters(primary and pre) and an oil filter. Pressurized oil lubrication. Grease zerks on the pulley drive and the rear axle supports.

        LMAO!!! Now that's classic!!!

Go buy a Craftsman with a Briggs and Stratton engine. $200(approx) and call it a day. My 13 year old version has never skipped a beat.

I found a Craftsman at Sears with a Honda engine on it. Great machine around $300.

I have a Husgavarna and love it. I have had it for 5 years now and not one problem with it.

                            JK Don't do that

Craftsman, Deere, Honda, Snapper, Yardman. There all pretty darn good.
I use I a 22" front drive craftsman walk behind sometimes when I do small yards with my business.

We got a new Husgavarna from Lowes a couple months ago, it's a mowin machine. It is slightly more difficult to handle than out old on. It's a tall rear wheel, rear wheel drive. First pull starter.

With my military discount, put it right around $300.
