Finally making progress at the ranch

We haven't had much luck with getting a water well for the past 4 months so we decided to go with an in ground storage tank. We have also been waiting on the power company to set the poles and set the meter as well. It is finally all coming together as the power is done, and we got some water delivered yesterday as well. There are no water wells on the property right now, but hopefully one day someone will get to us for a reasonable price. There are no ponds on the property as well, but hope to change that next weekend with some small ponds for the wildlife.

Been waiting on my well for 6 months. I think I'm in the wrong business. We live on a 1550 gallon tank above ground. Hope they come soon.

I think I can wait it out as long as I've got some water for now, but like you said hope it's not to long. I don't know what it normally cost to get water hauled, but for this trip it was 300 bucks for the trucking and 1800 gallons.

I operates off a 275 water container for 6 months. It was on a trailer. I drive two miles to get it filled

Wow this might be an idea for water without having to dig a well. Wonder if anyone near Paris does this??

We do not have a water well at our lease either. I have two 250 gallon water totes piped together with a small RV demand pump for pressuring up our water system. We have 3 travel trailers hooked up to this. In order to fill them, we have a spare 250 gallon tote we haul to another ranch to get water, and just pump out of it into the other tanks. The water is non potable so we only use it for showers. 500 gallons will last a long time if you use it sparingly.

First quote was close to 5k, but I found out they were charging me for the transformer, meter, and to take down at a later date because they thought it was just temporary. For them to set two poles, and hook up to my meter loop it ended up being around 3500 all said and done. They will not set your meter pole for you either while they are there. Said it had to be done prior to them coming out.

Drill your own water well. There is a guy that rents the machine and comes out and instructs you how to do it. He is not licensed so he cant drill it. I used him and it cost me $3500 and that included 4" PVC and screen, and submersible pump. Took us about 6 hours to 110ft.

Trust me I thought about it, but have to get down to around 500-600 feet were I'm at. (that's what I've been told anyway)

Same with me need to be at least 400 ft. As far as electric goes there is a power easement though my property so it was $1300 for a meter loop and new pole since it was from 1974. Good deal it looks like.

We had the same. Power easement running through the property, but really needed it the extra 300' to camp. Heck of a deal you've got there!
