    The deer in my avatar was shot not far from you. I have been hunting the public lands (conservation areas) in Caldwell and Carroll Counties. Corn/Soybean, water, woods. All equal big deer. If you drew a 75mi radius around your house, I bet you would find that in the past 5 years more trophy book bucks have been killed in that circle than any other 150mi area in the country. I love it here. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine moving to this area (Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Alaska were always on my list - but not here). But, you just have to experience one crazy rut day in these woods and you are hooked for life.

                            Yeh, buddy! She heard 3 years ago that in her 40th year she would finally have her feet grounded and be brought out of wandering around the dessert. She turned 40 in January.
