    A/C guage reading...I cant

    My nieghbor had a guage set. My a/c is out in my 2000 GMC. I put a jumper wire in the relay to get the compressor going. Thanks for any input.

    You should be reading the 134a numbers which are the blue number scale.

      I would say your really low of freon cause your suction and head press are so low. There is prob a safety switch that protects your compressor if you can get it to come on my a jumper wire. Didn't work on car A/C in school much.

        yes compressors have a thermal switch and a pressure release valve. are those readings with the ac on or off?

          that was quick.... fowlwaters I knew I'm running R134a(sticker on fan shroud).
          RatherBFishin I had a jumper on to get that readund pictured-thanks. I found some numbers online that say my compressor may be done. Any other comments highly appreciated.

            fan on blast- windows down-jumper wire in relay,compressor engaged( thanks mossyoak20)

              Make sure you turn it on max with the fan all the way on high. I wouldn't thank it's fried if you can get it to come on with the wire. Might have to replace a relay and add freon to it.

                either low charge or faulty compressor........mechanic for a living

                  Bleed your hose after hooking a can up and
                  Add some If it comes on with the jumper on the low pressure switch it's not fried.

                    I kinda figured it was time so I bought this rebuilt set off ebay came prefilled with PAG for $175.now I just need time and a flush kit and a vacuum pump.Its gettin hot outside. Thanks all who commented and any other thoughts appreciated.
