Need some help from the dog guys...

My English Pointer has decided that the back door is his personal urinal. Is there anything I can do, aside from fencing it off, to keep him from marking his territory there?

Wonder if a shock coller will deter that? I would think it would only take once or twice for him to learn. Idk...

Start feeding him right where he pees. He won't pee near his food.

That isn't true, my dogs pee in their food bowls.

Wow, mine won't go anywhere near their bowls, their beds, or anywhere they lay down.

It sounds like your dog is acting out his frustrations. Is everything going well at home? is there possibly hurt feelings and frustrations that he might be acting out? Are you giving your dog quality time? If not....then shock collar is your friend..haha Seriously that has to be frustrating. I know your not supposed to use shock collar for punishment but this might be the exception to the rule... 1) Starts to pee on door...SHOCK.....2) Again, starts to pee on door SHOCK.....after he associates discomfort when peeing there you would think it would stop this behavior.....Im just guessing though....its what I would do. .....

They say to never pee on an electric fence.

Don't waste your money on any of the sprays. They don't work......

Maybe bleach, water in a sprayer and soak the area down each day. Maybe it will keep him away trying to sniff the spot out. Strong bleach smell might just work.

I will give the bleach a shot. It will atleast keep the area clean. Going to give the shock collar a shot this weekend. Looks like I'm sitting on the patio with a cooler and a remote.
Just hope he doesn't start crying EVERY time he pees from now on...

Now, there's an idea.....run a strand of electric fence right where he pees, that'll put the stop to it, and quick I bet! J/K, I would never do that, not even to my neighbor's dogs, which I dispise.

Well I just tried the bleach and that was an instant pee session...LOL He sniffed it and immediately hiked and peed. Looks like the shock collar is next.
