This is most of what I use now...
Press, electronic scale, hand priming tool, flash hole deburring tool, primer pocket uniformer, loading block, powder measure, funnel, powder trickler, case trimmer, case mouth chamfering/deburring tool, case neck brush, dial caliper, dial micrometer, case neck turner, kinetic bullet puller, vibratory brass tumbler, several current loading manuals, MTM ammo boxes, lube and lube pad, dies, and shell holders.
Press, dies, powder measure, lube pad. lube, powder scales, reloading manuals, powder trickler.camfering and deburring tool, primer pocket cleaner. case length trimmer, shell holder. Proably miss a couple item. Good luck and have fun.
A cleaning device(tumbler) media for the tumbler. Case trimmer. Debur tool. Primer pocket cleaner. Die Set. Lube and lube pad. Priming tool. Loading Block. Powder funnel. Scale. And Press. Bullet Puller if you screw up. Powder Measurer if you are lazy and a set of calipers to be sure everything is in spec.
If you are looking for the bare minimum press, shell holder, dies, powder scale, case lube and calipers. In the wouldn't it be nice category hand priming tool, powder trickler, some way to trim and deburr cases, tumbler and media to polish cases, and the list goes on and on. I have a lube pad I used when I started but now use Hornady One Shot aerosol lube. It's hard to beat a RCBS Rock Chucker press. Lee dies are as good as any and attractively priced. Gun shows tend to offer some bargains on reloading equipment.
Let's book a weekend to come and reload together. I'm in Pearland south of Houston. I have a very basic setup and would enjoy helping you. Pm if interested.
To get started, get the RCBS Master kit, a set of dies, a set of digital calipers, a case trimmer of some sort (lee makes a cool one that I like), and some components. READ the book, cover to cover (you don't have to read everything about all the different calibers, just the informative part about the loading process and safety concerns). OH, and the best investment I made was Hornady One Shot case lube in the spray can, SO much better than the lube pad that comes with the kit.
You can get all the items need but in my opinion the best thing you can get is a teacher to guide you through the proper steps!
In my view your right. All the stuff everyone is posting is complete greek.
I'm looking for the basic. Don't care about doing 100 an hour etc. It will be for something to keep busy during a nasty day indoors.
I sent a PM to Outback.
