Its widespread. I had it in one of my show steers.
Can be in goats cats dogs pigs and many others.
I gave my steer three (sulfate 3) pills.
Although these are for cattle I'm sure your vet will have a smaller one for dogs and would most likely give the pills to him himself.

The mucus part is because of the blood coming from the intestinal track.

I hope that's all that's wrong because it is an easy cure.
If its not coccidiosis I have no clue what else would have intestinal blood.
X2, my Lab had this as a pup. Stool sample confirmed it for the vet. They got it cleared up in no time. Same mucus like stools he had, at least. Hoping it's nothing too serious.

Check her running area for open antifreeze containers. Hope I'm wrong, and she gets better. C'ya

Also pull up her lips and see if her gums are grey and slightly cool, if so better get her on a worming regiment

Definitely could be the hook and roundworms causing it. Gastroenteritis and HGE (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis) are possibilities as well. I actually see this frequently and most will do well. Not usually do to poisoning, not due to coccodia. Almost anything they eat that doesn't agree can cause these symptoms. Some get sick enough that they need to be in the hospital on IV fluids and IV meds and some will respond to outpatient treatment. It sounds like your vet has ruled out a couple important problems (pancreatitis and foreign body/obstruction).

Try a bland diet like boiled chicken and rice in additional to what your vet has going. Has she been vaccinated yearly? We have seen a few adult dogs with parvo this year. May be worth testing to be safe as this is a game changer.

Any questions let me know Leon.

It is just hook worms. My Lab had the same issue about 4 months ago. Vet put her on some meds and she was better within a few days. Same exact symptoms though.
