Poisoning brush on a fence line?

I figured I better ask before I get started on 10 miles of fence. My question is, Will a Diesel and Remedy mixture cause the fence to corrode. The fence is about 8 years old and there is no rust and I dont want to cause any problems. And I really dont want to cut all the brush out. Anyone ever done this? Thanks

    Grazon P & D should kill it.

Goats... tie them to a short lead and heavy weight so they can move down the fence line and they will eat it. But you will have to put them up at night.

Honcho plus will kill anything you spray it on. Won't cause any damage to the fence, or it hasn't to ours, at least.

Spray on a day with no wind, after the sun has gotten low.

To answer your question, no Diesel and Remedy should not rust out your fence or rot out wood posts. Diesel has alot of oil in it and will discolor stuff more than anything else.
Just a side not, if the brush is not hard barked but more young sapling you really do not need diesel but something like clean slate or reclaim with the Remedy and a surfactant like a little dawn soap. All the diesel does is allow for better sticking power so to speak and you can get that with liquid soap and its a lot less expensive. They say use the diesel when you are spraying hard barked trees and larger stuff cause it somehow allows the chemical to be better absorbed into hard barked trees. I tried just remedy on small mesquite and all it did was burn the leaves off and play possum for a couple weeks. Came back strong. For fence lines I mix Remedy, Erasure, Clean Slate and a little liquid soap(for overgrown fence lines) with water in large 20 gal. spayer. Kills everything, and I mean everything.. Not cheap, but wanted to do it once not over and over the next few years. Now all I have to do it a little weed killer every 6 months or so. Good Luck..

If you kill all the grass on the fenceling with something like Erasure, teh post will eventually become loose. Especially if you have livestock pushing on the fence. The grass roots hold the dirt and posts tight. I know from experience. I just spray the weeds and let the cattle eat the grass around the fence.

if you use diesel it will burn the foilage and not allow the plant to get the poisen. If you are spraying foiler use water and a surfactant and this will allow the plant to draw the poisen in.

                    2oz Round Up
                    2oz Remedy
                    1gal water

and just a couple gallons of diesel to top off mt 20 gal sprayer will completely nuke anyliving plant, weed, or brush on the fenceline.

Keep in mine that the Remedy CAN also kill trees so be carfule about getting on wanted trees. Even sprayed on the base of the tree can do it if there is any break in the bark.

We spray thenet wire fences around our hunting ranch every year and have never had any problem with corrosion. We've used Roundup, Grazon and most recently Remedy in a tank of water with Air Force surfactant. This is the first year we've used Remedy and I'm impressed! After only one week, all of the bois d'arc, mesquite and honey locust are already dropping their leaves. The fence looks just fine.
