New Bird Dog!

Well here is my new addition to the family, Poncho. He is 6 weeks old full blooded registerd lab. Hopefully he will be a Good Bird Dog!

I love Labs. I've had a few. I have an old yellow female, 13, and a young black male , 2, right now. Best breed of dog I've ever had. Never trained mine to be bird dogs or hunting dogs, just great family pets. I love 'em.

Thats a good looking pup you got there, lots of fun in your future.

We have a yellow lab thats about 8 yrs old. She is absoulutly worthless as a lab. She is scared of the water, hates to ride in the back of the truck, and dont even think about shooting a gun near her. But, she loves my son and will stay between him and strangers, or other dogs. She is very lovable and just wants to lay around alot (kinda like me!).
All in all a great pet...but a terrible lab!

ha ha yea i can relate to both of you my 14 year old black male lab just died on Thanksgiving day. he was prolly one of the best behaved dogs i have ever seen, but was usless as a lab scared of guns, and didnt like to ride in the truck. The dog in my avatar is a 4 yr old female with the same father as my pup, she too is worthless as a lab but a great family dog. she will retrieve and rides in my truck and loves the water but i waited to long to expose her to guns so she is scared! i will not make the same mistake with this one!
