Camp Riverview is nice. They have tent and RV camping but also built a bunch of new cabins (with AC) a couple years ago.

Camp Riverview is a family-owned campground perfect for your affordable Frio River family getaway in Concan, TX! Cabins, tent sites, and RV sites are available.

Who is the best to use for a float trip? What section of the river is best?

Also Frio Country rents some nice cabins/houses.

Just need to call both and check availability. As stated above, it can be kind of difficult to find openings on the weekends during the summer.
We're staying at frio country in two weeks. will be the first time at these and they look very nice.

Neal's Lodges. Nice cabin, grocery store, free river access and if the river isn't flowing, you can just hang out at Neal's Swimmin' Hole for no charge.

All along River Road. The exit point is right in front of Neal's. You get in either 1 or 2 (or more) river crossings up, depending upon how long of a float you want. Ask around the convenience stores to find out how long the floats are running (it varies depending upon water flow).

if you want a short trip put in at 7 Bluffs crossing and Float down to Frio Country Crossing

if you want a medium length trip put in at Frio Country Crossing and float down to Neals

if you want a long trip put in at 7 Bluffs and float down to Neals (would not reccomend unless the river is up enough to where you don't have to walk at all)

All of these crossings are on River Road and are the main hub of activity and places to stay in the Mountain Valley area. This area is 8 miles South of Garner State Park so if you want to run up there for the dance or to climb Ol' Baldy and hang out at Garner it is still very close.

7 bluffs to frio country is running about 2.5 hrs, frio country to neals is running about 3-3.5 hrs, the flow is better than it has been in years right now so get it while its good. you can also do the 1120 south crossing to happy hollow if you want a shorter trip. they also have a shuttle service there if you need it. most all the resorts have shuttles available including ours so just pick the one you want and have fun.
