    Lake Fork help/tips

Wanting to take my wife to Lake Fork this weekend. She has yet to catch a nice bass. I haven't been there since I quit tournament fishing 12 years ago. Any advice on where to put in and fish? I've heard a lot of the visible timber is gone now? Any advice on water levels, lures, tactics, lures, gps coordinates to your brush piles? JK! I would like to help her catch a good 5 lb plus bass? Thanks guys!

Red is the most popular color on this lake and two good spots are Coffee creek and little mustang. I have had good success at both of these spots on the lake.

Here you go bud..... The lake is approx 1 feet low lots of good fish being caught right now in the 2-15 foot range. Since there is no grass in the lake the fish are really relating to timber and isolated structure.... humps, roadbeds, underwater bridges etc! Right now the best bait by far is the drop shot if you can fish it.

Here's how I would start the day, put in at the minnow bucket early run straight across and fish the main lake bank with a topwater first thing..... yellow magic or spook after the sun gets up fish the main lake timber in 3-12 foot with any soft plastic (drop shot, texas rig) they will let you know if they are there! If this doesn't work use your graph and fish 515 east road bed, bell hump, Hurley's pond dam, or SRA road bed! (c-rig or spoon) If this doesn't work and you are not comfortable go to the bridges 154 or 515 west!!!!! The fish are there right now they just got to be feeding. Throw a fluke, crankbait, or swim bait and hang on! If the bass don't eat the sand bass will surely do so. If this doesn't work, look down the lake and find the point that runs the farthest out into the main lake. Go to it and throw a c-rig till you feel thump!

Hope this help bud, this should give you a full day

            Zeeter gave you good advice.

If you want to fish the west side of the lake put in at Mustang Resort, go straight across and start fishing that shore line. I'd also find Italy Sock and Chicken Ridge or any other main lake point.

If the ring frys aren;t working out c rig some shiners in the above spots. I;d add the old road bed in front of E 515 too. theres an old road intersection on the rt side of the boat run that usually has fish on it sometime durring the day. Also hit the hump in the boat lane about 1/2 mile before the bridge. They'res usually boats tied up on it. If momma doesn;t blow a gasket I might be on the water in the am catching crappie...

Load up and go to falcon would be my advice. I just highly dislike fork.
