Pulling up to Galveston Surf right now

We usually surf fish around Jamaica beach but does anyone have any suggestions for this morning? Have my girls with me so they have to be able to swim/play too. Thanks

Normally the best thing to do is just cruise the beach looking for bait, birds, slicks etc.

What he said! And don't be afraid to move if your not catching anything. I've been skunked, literally moved 100 yards down the beach and caught a limit. Good luck!

I agree, if I dont see any promising sign Ill just get out work an area good enough to check for fish then move. No reason wasting a time of good tidal movement in an area not producing fish.

Looks a little rough but the water looks real good. How's the clarity right now? I've got the heck out of good trout in rough surf water when the clarity was good.

Are you fishing with the long rods or for trout?

I was fishing for Trout, caught a few croakers on plastic and live shrimp. Water clarity was great. Fighting lots of sea weed though, birds and bait fish were all over where I fished. Had to move twice to get around sea weed coming in, but it all eventually pushed up to shore. Great day with the girls, started getting packed around 1100.
