          Nice Haul!

Do yourself a favor with future sharks and bleed them. It helps the meat taste better. Not exactly sure, but I believe it has something to do with iodine in the blood. I have known people to cut part way through the body at the base of the tail or gut it and pack it with ice.

I've always bled them and then NEVER penetrate the belly cavity when cleaning. I've found the best way is to cut down the "spine" and down and away cutting the meat away from the gut. Just my $0.02.

I've had several blacktips and one hammerhead hit lures that were targeting specks and redfish only to find out......toofies wanted some of this action too!

I hooked and landed a 4 ft hammerhead wading the 3rd sandbar one afternoon. Casting for spanish mackerel...using a silver 1 ounce spoon standing on the sand bar when the rod bowed over. Finally got the fish turned and realized what I had....so I swam into the beach and gave the rod to my youngest son as we fought this small shark in - revived and released. That ABU PROMAX 3600 drag was toast though LOL!

I hooked about a 6ft blacktip in the 2nd gut one afternoon....it was fun for a few seconds.....my ABU XLT1 spooled in probably 30 - 40 seconds but I managed to get 2 jumps out of him before it was all done! LOL!

My only shark was the first year they put a size limit on them, I threw out a shrimp from the jetty and it dissappeared, it felt like all i had in the water was the line, I set the hook and it was on.

Little hammerhead shark that was just under the size restriction.
