How do I start a NASP program?

I have talked to a few people about starting a NASP program at Mabank ISD. There seems to be a good deal of interest. Where do I start? I want to put together a presentation for the AD.

What is NASP (and I am too lazy to Google)

Look into OAS instead of NASP as you are more likely to get it through because EVERYTHING is free. I am the instructor in Huntington for OAS (Olympic archery in the Schools). With the school budgets the way they are, they are not going to want anything that cost money. Also you can do OAS as an after school club if you want or make it a class that gets PE credit.

Javelin is absolutely correct. Grants for equipment, online instructor certification, and insurance through USA archery. Another great benefit is the equipment the kids will be using is competitive if they want to take it to the next level.

Contact Burnie Kessner. He is the NASP Coordinator for Texas.

              Burnie.Kessner@tpwd.state.tx.us

He will help you get a NASP program started.

Yes. I'm planning to attend. I'm also trying to convince the AD of the school district to attend.
