Nikon and Vortex are both quality scopes that won't break the bank.

I'd see if you can get the trigger crisp and then any scope that will hold zero will work. 3x9 is plenty. Small weaker hands a light crisp trigger is more important than good glass

Look at the Vortex Diamondback lineup. I'm a huge Vortex fan, because they are good scopes and the warranty/customer service cannot be beat.

Don't go cheap on glass. Whatever you do. Gun is only as good as the scope.

I went with a Bushnell Elite 4200 3x9 on my gf's recent gun. Great clear scope for the money IMO.

+1 I would strongly advise the Diamondback. I have five of them and they are great.

I went with the 3-9x40 and the 3.5-10x50, Great scopes.

Ya but its a Rossi... That's something I could put a vortex on and not worry about it. Or a Leupy 3-9x40 bread and butter!
