Looking for a mid price range optic for my black gun. What do y'all prefer and have good experience with. Looking for the 100-200 dollar price range.

    Thanks

                  I wouldn't call a $100-$200 a mid price scope. I just put a $600 Leupold VX-3 1.5-5x20mm on my new Colt AR - that's a mid priced scope. The mount was a $180 Larue LT104.

Some guys put $1000 Trijicons and $1500 Nightforce scopes on their rifles. If you're only going to plink at 25 yards, a $100-$200 scope/red dot will work. If you want to hit something 100-200 yards away, you're going to have to spend more money. And you'll most likely need some sort of cantilever mount to get the ocular even with the end of the charging handle - imo.

At that price you are definitely on the lowest end but luckily there are a few optics out there in that price range that are adequate. Try Sitemark they are a Texas based company but keep in mind you get what you pay for.

specifically their Ultra shot $105 or $129 with night vision capability-Their version of Eotech

i have bought several in the $200 price range and wish i wouldnt have. its not that they break but can be battery hogs!! nothing worse than having a weapon with a site that wont turn on.

i have an eotech now. its more of a mid price optic and has worked well. buy once, cry once.....

Aimpoint owners consider Eotechs battery hogs.

Acog owners consider Aimpoints battery hogs.

You can find this one for $150 or so. Works good on mine. Depends on what you will be using your AR for.
