    Another hog down

Well today we were lucky enough to get another hog in our trap. This time it was a lone boar. He put up a good fight as we wrestled him to the ground tying to tie him up and get him out of the trap without sheding blood in the trap. In the end everything worked out. It is times like this that I miss my best catch/trap dog. Hunter (my catch dog)would of made quicker work of this piggy.

(Paul wanted to watch us in tackle this pig, LOL)

We did not weigh the hog, but I would say he went between 175-200lb. What do you guys think on the weight?

We have had as many as 13 hogs at one time in out large trap. Now that was a long afternoon, LOL.

Does getting blood in the trap keep other hogs from going in?

I started trapping hogs about 7 years ago, and in the first couple years everytime we harvested the hog in the trap, we had zero action in the trap for around 2 months. Several times when we have removed the hogs alive we have had more in the trap the next day. So... yes I think it hurts.
