Fill dirt is your friend.

Remember, dirt is cheaper that concrete. You can fix your uneven yard by hauling in a load or two of select fill and compacting it to grade. Your slab doesn't need to be any thicker than 4-6", with beams going into natural ground. With your plan you'll need about 30 yards of concrete at $75/yard. With an external beam and one center-run beam and a 6" slab you'll need about 15 yards of concrete instead.
