Cold air intake system question(MPG)

Who all has one their rig? Are they worth the money? Does gas mileage get better as well as performance? Thanks

You should notice a little better throttle response. Some trucks I have owned got better mileage after installing an air intake. Some didn't. I still buy them. As far as worth the money, I don't know.

Just put one on my truck. Not much of a difference besides a slightly quicker pedal response. I just like the sound

Have one on my 08 dmax. No improvement in mileage over stock. Slightly better throttle response. Would I do it again? Yep. Looks pretty cool when you pop the hood.

Company put them on our work vans. Went from an overall average of 10.0 mpg to a whopping 10.3. 3% increase isn't too bad I guess.

On a diesel, it will make more of adifference if you combine it with a tuner and straight exhaust. On a gasser, unless you are running something carburated, it wont make much difference. Just like mentioned before, it looks cool, sounds mean, and increases throttle resonse a bit. If you are running a highly modified, high hosepower engine, you would see the difference at the top end (4K RPM and up), but on a stock engine, you wont notice it much.

Ive run them on every vehicle Ive owned since 2000 and none of them gave me better MPG.

Waste of 400$ did volant cold air on my 02' f150 5.4 sounds cool with this whistle under the hood but don't think I gained much mpg or horse power.

I put a cai on my 01 1500 HD. i dont think it helped any. I kinda think it might have affected the mpg negatively. then again its the only mod done to the truck. I put just a k&N air filter on my 97 Z71 when i bought it and it improved the mpg.
