I read on one of the news articles that it was in a very unusual place.
They blamed some of the ones near Cleburn and Stephenville on gas drilling, dont know what was ever decided about that but they have been doing alot of drilling in that country
They said it was felt in Tyler but I didnt feel anything
What the heck IS causing these things?
I remember being shocked when my sister told me about several in Euless a couple of years ago. I've lived in DFW all my life (sans 9 months in Maryland in 72) and had never heard of earthquakes until recently.
I was in Henderson and didn't feel anything. I'm in the oil/gas business and there hasn't been a well drilled in Timpson in a loonng time. Closest would be south side of center. I just don't see fracking moving tectonic plates... Jmo
So they don't think it's the hydraulic forces of fracking but all the water they move from aquifers changes the heat and causes tectonic shifting? Not being a smart arse I'm really asking.

There's only 1 state in the united states that has NEVER had a confirmed earthquake. That state is currently hosting more drilling, fracing, and completing than anyhere in the US. It's North Dakota. It is the geographical center of the North American continent and further away from any major faults than any other state. If drilling or completing was causing this I can assure you that ND would be the next California. We have always had the quakes, they're just being reported more now.
