    Kayak rental and shuttle service??

I'm planning to take a few days off next month and do some flyfishing with my dad. We're gonna float some river(s). We have kick boats, but I'd rather be in kayaks (which we don't own). Dad has a few minor health issues, so I'm looking for comfort and stability, not just any cheap kayak. I need to find a rental place that has some good sit on top yaks with upright seat back (preferably something like a Jackson Cuda or Coosa with a high seat option).

Anybody know of a rental service that has something like that? If so, where are they? We're open to just about any Hill Country river other than the Guadalupe or Comal (too many tubers).

Austin Canoe and Kayak should have some higher end rental options for you.

Its not really the hill country but the fishing is good the river is awesome. You could do the colorado river below austin. I have 2 yaks if you did not want to rent. A prowler 15 and a old school wilderness systems ride.

I really appreciate the offer, Mike. I've done the Colorado at Bastrop before. Beautiful! But I'm thinking more like the Llano, San Marcos, Blanco, etc. for this trip. Should be good flows this year after the rain we're getting.

The san Marcos is awesome! There are a few rapids and mandatory portages. Cummings dam, martidale dam and staples dam. Not to many people fly fish, but the ones that do, do well. In january, a guy landed a 8+lbr on the fly! Feel free to ask ?'s.
I would rent from AKC or REI. If you need shuttle service, use TG canoe or Spencers canoe. Theirs rental yaks won't be to good for your dad.... this is for the SMR.
              Good luck and tight lines!!

I'll buy a new yak, you rent it from me, we'll split the fish

                win, win, win

                deal?

Shane, don't overlook the upper Guadalupe. It can be awesome for fly fishing and you won't see any tubers unless it's right around the rental places. We have had some fabulous fishing/canoe trips on the upper.

The store in Castel rents yaks for the Llano river.

Shane- my bro is the mgr of Outdoor Waco. They rent kayaks by the day. Not sure if you'll be anywhere near there or not, but I could hook you up with him...
