I'm a big fan of Polk. They're well made, and sound great.
I have also had good service from Cerwin Vega, JL, MB Quart, Rockford Fosgate and several others. I've put them in boats and off-road cars with good results.
If you have more of a budget in mind, the Pioneer offerings sound good, and are much easier on the wallet.
I encourage folks to not put a radio in anymore, they never listen to it anyhow, and CD's skip like crazy.
Just get a MP3 amplifier controller. Plenty of them out there to choose from, and no chopping a hole in the console of your boat. I like to put MP3 players in something like an Otter box, and silicone seal a cable into it so it stays weather proof and you just plug it in to the amp for clean sound.
Enhance your marine audio system with the Pyle PLMRMP3A 800W 4-Channel Waterproof Marine MP3/iPod Power Amplifier. This durable and high-powered amplifier ensures reliable performance on the water, delivering crisp audio for your boating adventures. Upgrade your sound system today and experience premium audio quality on the open seas.
This is an inexpensive one, but does exactly what I'm describing. There are higher end versions available.
There are similar Bluetooth powered units also available, though I've never installed one; I like that idea quite a bit.
