Can A Tracking Dog Screw Up Your Stand?

Apparently not my dog at my stand.......

I was going through my Game Cam pics and noticed this sequence of photos. My brother in law hunted my stand and shot at a cull buck. His shot was low (we had it on video) and there was only two drops of blood. He looked for a while and we got my dog to go look. I was a little concerned that my dog and our presence might run a paticular deer I had named Whopper away from my stand. I had passed this buck up twice this year (hoping to shoot him in the fall of 08), and was worried someone else on the lease might shoot him. Here are the pictures, I thought it was interesting.

Rhyan has TC pics of his beagle pissing and crapping in our stand areas and the deer are there same day like clock work.

Kevin, I am ashamed you would think anyone on the lease would shoot whopper
..Look at it this way if Emmitt shot at him he would still be there next year ..
Good info to know about Lola & the deer

Too funny, Emmit was not the one I was "most" worried about. I guess time will prove if I was lucky or stupid for not shooting him. What is that in your avatar, a sheep?

Dogs have never bothered deer. even if they run them they will return to their area the next day. A few years ago one of the Carolinas did a study on coonhunting and deer. They let coonhunters come in and turn dogs loose on deer feeders at night then watched all the feeders the next morning to see what happened. They came to the conclusion that it made no differance. They were hoping that the study would show the dogs messed up deer hunting so they could stop coonhunting during deer season but it back fired on them.

                Hey Kevin,
I think that is a picture of a sheep up close in his avator,
I hope for my sake that Whopper made it through the season, that way I can shoot him next year. haha

Alan - I guess you of all people would know what a sheep looks like. Why would you shoot Whopper? I thought you only hunted pigs.

In November, we had three guys and a tracking dog all over one of my leases looking for a deer my friend had arrowed. Tromped around for several hours (until noon). I was back in the same tree the very next morning, and saw deer, so no noticeable affect.
