    Lake Texoma camping question

I am heading down to Lake Texoma in June for a week or so. Anybody have any recommendations on a place with camp sights on the water and a swimming area for a couple of little ones? I won't be able to take my boat so bank fishing is a must too!!

Forgot to mention that it doesn't matter which side of the lake. Texas or Oklahoma side is about the same distance for me.

You can't go wrong with Eisenhower, awesome swim beach, walking the shoreline and fishing the rocks always produces a couple of bass.

For bait fishing, East burns run has a couple of campsites on the back side near the creek that we usually pull a few fish out of and also has a great swim beach for the kids.

Walnut Creek Resort is a family owned and operated marina and campground located on beautiful Lake Texoma. We offer a fun and safe environment for you and your family. We have rental cabins, RV sites, boat slips, and fuel dock with convenience store.

Check and make sure you can swim in Texoma. They had a ban on swimming because of a algae in the water. The ban has been in place since last year.

All watches and advisories have been lifted by the corps. The lake is safe.

I grew up on that lake so I would say Eisenhower or West Burns run are the two best options. Pending on lake levels East Juniper isn't a bad spot either.

Which one would be better to fish from? Which one would be better for the kids to play in the water?

PLEASE go to Eisenhower SP if you have not been before. I practically grew up there. It's where my Dad proposed to Mom back in 87, where I went on my first camping trip (age 2) and where I did my Eagle Scout project. (The flagpole in front of the group building in Deer Haven) I have made countless trips in my life, and made some great memories!

Good pier fishing and there is a designated swimming beach. There are campsites near and in view of the water but I don't believe there are any on the beach. Lots of cliff sites with great views.

There are deer all over the park, but we have seen the most in the clearings at the entrances to Deer Haven and Bois d'arc Ridge.
