I thought I had problems with my 200 but after 934 pics, the battery and panel couldn't keep up and it shut off. New battery and good as new......so to date I can say I have had no problems with my Moultrie 200. Try one.

I have a WD1, WD2, WD3, WD2IR and 4 of the older AA models. The original cameras had a longer trigger and ATE the AA batteries, but they had the best flash on the marget and picture quality was great, even at a MP. I have two of them still chugging away at feeders, but I have either battery boxes with solar panels or solar panels and rechargeable AA's feeding them. The WD's have some of the best battery life out there. I just use the C batteries and take LOTS of pictures with a set. My WD1 took 1600 pics over 6 weeks and was still churning away when I checked it. It took probably 2500 to 3000 pics on a set of batteries. The flash wasn't up to stealth standards or I'd have the field flooded with these cams. I got it on ebay for about 114 delivered. The WD2 takes a little better pic and has a little better flash, but the batteries life is about the same as the WD1. The WD3 hasn't been out there long enough. It's on the Junco right now and I won't check it for a couple more weeks. The IR camera has about the strongest IR "flash" of the IR cams that I've seen or used. The pics are really sharp. If you don't mind not having color, then it's a great camera. Good on batteries also.
I also have the Leaf River BU1, BU2, IR, and the 6 mp camera. I got the 6 because it was only 248 dollars compared to the BU2's 232. The 6 mp isn't important to me. I like all these cams, but the IR and BU2 are the two I like the best because of the price, battery life, and quality of the pics. The IR is a little fuzzy at night and has pastel colors during the day, but I've taken thousands and thousands of pics with it and really like it.
I haven't used the Moultrie cams, but they sure take fine pics when they work. I'll defer to the Moultrie users for their testimony.
The Bushnells and Wildview cams seem to be good, but the flash is so anemic as to make night pics useless. I see that Wildview has a later model that has a super flash. If so, it may be one to consider. One guy on our lease has two of the early models and you couldn't give me one.
I've never been a fan of the Cuddebacks. Too much money and for that kind of money I'd expect the produc to be more reliable. sorta like was stated above, you get lucky and you get a good one. We've had quite a few in our arsenal and the problems were just too many. The new models have about a 50% return rate from the cams on the Junco. The Cudde lovers are like Mathews shooters. When they get them they REALLY like them, but there's other models out there that will outdo them, or are just as good.

I bought a cheapy Wildview last year and regretted it. Weve got a cudde and it is amazing, but way to expensive. Im leaning towards the moultrie, the pics look good from what ive seen, and you can get 2 for the price of a cuddeback. I think cabelas has a "Cabelas Brand" Moultrie for around 150.

Hey Tuthdoc, have you seen that on the '06 and up Leaf River IRs that you can get flash extenders for them? On the bottom of the cam there is a little jack that says IR booster or something like that. Anyway, they are self powered units and up to 4 can be installed on one cam. Looks very promising if you need a little extra on the IR light.

I also wanted to point out that I had to drastically reduce the size of the pictures from my stealth cams so they look a little blocky.
Truthdoc,
I have the Camo Stealth Cams that came out last year and I run them off of the 6v batteries. What models are they? I am most certain they are they 2.0mp cameras but I do not know what model they are?
Glad to see someone else is as addicted to the cameras as I am!
Oh, also do you ever have any troubles with the cameras taking plenty of pictures but when you pull the card it says "card not formatted"? I have never personally had it happen but, my hands have it happen all the time, what are they doing wrong?
All I can figure is that they try to format the cards with the camera itself or the way they delete the files off of them is screwing them up? They get some right and some wrong. I always just make darn sure I format them before I stick them in the cameras and I never have issues.
Let me know what you think.

I recently bought a Bushnell for $120 shipped. I have been real impressed with it so far. Two downsides are a weak flash and a permanent 30 second delay. It's not the best for a feeder with lots of traffic, but good for hand-corned areas and trails. I like it better than the Moultrie 200s and 100s I've used.
I have a friend that is really happy the the $100 Wild View (I think that's what it's called) camera. It sounds like a better camera than the Bushnell but I haven't used one.

im curious about the flash extenders. I need to look into them a little. I took some photography courses in college, and from what i learned, its really dificult to get a flash to really work past like 40ft, in most cases way less than that. An if they really do go out that far, wouldnt that be a really bright flash, enough to scare things away. Ive got some time to kill manana, ill call them and hear the pitch.

Crittergitter, that first pic is too cool! I took the liberty of touching it up a bit:
I bought two of the Bushnell Trail Sentry IR models from Cabelas because I needed infrared on the cheap. Let's just say I got what I paid for... I have to edit almost every picture that's taken at night to really see the image. Here's an example of what you get at night:
