Tore achilles playing basketball huge blow to the ravens D! The people acting like he's irresponsible for playin basketball baffles me.. I think it's crazy how they act like outside of football a player can't enjoy other sports or activities outside of football.

All of those activities like riding motorcycles, ATV's, skydiving, playing other sports etc. are all covered in their contracts. When a team is paying someone that kind of money, they are not going to risk their money by allowing the player to go out and do something like riding a sport bike without a helmet (remember the Ben Rothlesberger incident?).
While the team in this case is going to lose an impact player for the season, I am sure financially they are not at risk.Comment
