    Another swimming pool question

Over the weekend I posted a question about building a deck beside the Intex above ground pool I bought. I haven't set it up yet and was wondering if I should get a heavy duty ground cloth or tarp to put under it. I read on Intex's website that San Augustine or Bermuda grass can grow through the ground cloth that's supplied and the pool liner. What does anyone recommend to prevent this. The area is going in is most San Augustine grass right now.

If you can get an old pool liner from them that has holes in to they work great. Thats what I did when I had an above ground pool. I cut out the bottom put it down and then put fine sand down then put the pool on top of it.

I just used Roundup if something started growning under mine.

I use a black weed proof cloth they sell at home depot. It is a little expensive around 50.00 I think. I tape several rows together and lay it under the supplied tarp. Never have had grass grow through my liner using the black weed cloth.

Newspaper. Put down newspaper then spray it to make it wet(just keeps it from blowing away). Put down the tarp. It will kill it and the grass will not grow through it like the other stuff.

Has to be a fairly thick layer of paper.`

When we had an above ground pool they told us to put down Nut Grass Killer. Apparently it's better than roundup. Never had a problem.

I used 4X8 sheets of styrofoam wall insulation under mine. I used the heaviest duct tape I could find to connect the sheets and just cut the foam to fit under the pool. It keeps the grass out, required no dirt work, and is easy on the feet.
