If you only listen to me once listen to me when i say "go buy the book waterdog by Richard A Wolters" read it cover to cover multiple times. That book was written over 30yrs ago i believe and to this day I have yet to read a better book on retriever training and I've read quite a few.......that book will help turn playing into training without the pup even realizing it.

Thanks for the info! I will look into the book. Ive been soaking up as much info as I can about training. She's just about to be six weeks old so I need to get on the ball so I can start her here pretty soon.

Good looking pup. I pick up my chocolate in a couple weeks. I bought the book waterdog off Amazon for 10.00 with shipping. I have read half of it so far and I will concur that it is a very well written book.
