    Deck for swimming pool

I bought one of those pools from Walmart, by Intex. its 20ft round, i want to build a small deck beside it. just something about 8-10 feet long maybe. i need suggestions on how to build it so it will be curved the same as the pool and not just a rectangle platform next to a round pool. Please help!!!

Also I've read where the pump and filter that comes with it is not worth anything. I been thinking of switching over to a saltwater system, I've read where they are less maintenance and less money in the long run. Do yall thats had these type pools think it would be worth it?

My dad did one for our pool, round above ground pool, he did it like an octagon shape. It was round-ish and looked good. He welded steel beams he got off the job site, then used treated wood on top. I don't have any pics, it was a long time ago.

You can build the deck out of treated, redwood or the Trex decking material. Use treated for the support poles and floor joists. Use speciality screws or coated screws for any of the materials to attach the deck boards to the floor joists, especially around water. Build your deck frame to roughly follow the shape of the pool with you floor joists running parralel to the sides. Lay your top deck boards in a 90 degree angle (or as close as you can get) to the side of the pool with the edge of each deck board touching the side of the pool. With treated or redwood deck boards, bump them side by side because they will shrink. With the composite 1/8" gap is all. Once you have finished, cut the deck boards 1" to 2" away from the sides of the pool to give it some "moving" space. I will see if I can find my pics from the ones I have built and post them.

Sorry for the bad pics, these were scanned from photos I took.
All redwood except for the support poles and floor joists.

deckplans.com of something like that. I made one using their free plans and it worked great. It also went with the contour of the round pool. I took the pool out last summer and now we have a deck to no where im going to move to the pond.
