    Thanks for the lure advice!

A couple weeks ago while getting ready for a fishing trip I started a thread asking about your favorite topwater lures for specs and reds. I went online bought a few of the ones that got the most endorsements. As it turned out, I caught my 2 biggest fish of the trip on plugs suggested here.

I caught this 26" trout on a Skitter Walk.

I was wadefishing when I saw this this redfish streak out of the grass about 10 yards away and clobbered a Mann's Saltwater Waker.

Nice! Man we used to tear up the specs and reds! I ain't been in a few years. Seeing them pictures makes me itch to go back out there! Ain't nothing like catching em on a topwater!

Ha! I think spending a few days hunting or fishing makes me smarter - like taking a brain laxative.

Overall it was a great trip, but with the exception of a few hours around dawn, the wind blew at 25-35 for four days straight - which really got old. On Friday we were trying to get through Yarborough Pass and we hit a rock which slightly bent the prop shaft. We had to make the 45 mile run up the ICW back to Corpus at about 15mph. Total haul was 45 trout, one red and 3 flounder. According to the people we talked to at Bluff's Landing fishing has been really slow for the last few weeks so I feel lucky to come home with a full cooler.
