    AR Questions

I've asked Blake but he told me to ask you freaks

I have an AR 10 but I'm looking to build a couple AR 15's in the near future and I'm curious which way is the best route to take.

Buying a new gun or building one ? Were talking cost and quality.

Whole guns cost more than ones built.

I would build the lower to your specs and buy the uppers complete. Just make sure the uppers will match. Unlike AR15's they don't all match. I think there's two different "models" on the AR10.

Then don't worry about the two different models and have fun with it. I've built a few and you have my number.

I say build it yourself. When I got bit by the AR bug, I went to YouTube to find videos on how to put one together. There's tons of videos on it. I did buy a complete LMT upper, and then bought all of the individual pieces to put the lower together. It shoots great and I built it!

Something to consider. Generally speaking, factory guns will have a higher resale value if you ever do sell it.

Obviously, if you built an AR15 with all top of the line gear, that is not the case.

Factory guns will retain their value better, especially the better guns, and are easier to sell than a frankengun.

And you can't build one any cheaper if using parts of the same quality.

Colts can easily be found for around $1k. Daniel defense, BCM and others of equal quality will be about the same or slightly higher.

If I buy new I'm leaning toward Colts and this seems to be the best route to go overall.

Buying I think right now. You used to be able to build cheaper.

You hear about the 308 arrow? It will work on a 223 lower.

I would just get a 300blk instead of that ^. Sounds like it could be a problem round.

Then your choices are .223 or a .223
